2013 Apple Predictions [from February 8th].

rowlewis:

iPhone 5S: We’ll see the new iPhone this September. Same design but with a new 13MP camera and a faster A7 chip. A bump in specs but more or less a refresh with no major design change. We may see iOS 7 before the iphone’s release maybe as early as June-July. But definitely expect iOS 7 to launch by September with the new iphone. New features should include a pandora-like radio app, with the ability to purchase songs within the app. Also expect updates of the iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand, Pages, Keynote, and Numbers apps.

iPad 5: due in November. This one gets a redesign. It’ll be smaller, lighter with a form factor like the mini. The iPad 5 gets an updated 8MP camera and two speakers instead of one.

iPad Mini 2: due also in November. No design change, but the mini will get a retina screen, the faster more powerful A6X chip, and an 8MP camera.

MacBooks: due in June. I think this year we’ll see the death of the non-retina 13” & 15” Macbook pros. It’s all retina from here on out. My out on a limb prediction is that we see a $200 price drop for the 13” & 15” Retina Macbooks, making them just a little more economical in leu of the defunct non-retina pros. The new macs will get the latest Intel chip, offering a slight boost in specs, and of course OSX 10.9 with Siri and Maps integration.

iMacs: due in November, the new iMacs will get the latest Intel chip, a slight boost in specs, and OSX 10.9 with Siri and Maps integration. My out on a limb prediction is that we see Retina on the new iMac.
